Wellington op shop finds

We are in Wellington for a few days, so of course we had to do a bit of op shopping. We went to one I hadn't been to before, the Salvation Army in Johnsonville and found some cool clothes! Tahi found two dinosaur singlet, so he was stoked and I found a pair of comfy pants, a Witchery woolen cardigan and a Max organic cotton cardigan. The quality of clothing is definitely a level up from Gisborne... Yay!

I played around this morning and modeled my new finds... funny!

 Being in summer mode in Gisborne, we came down with very little warm clothes and I didn't expect it to be so chilly, so it was lucky to find some nice cardis. Since this winter I've had a renewed interest in them, and I'm slowly accumulating some nice finds in my wardrobe. Speaking of which, it's "Embellish knits month" at Grosgrain, worth checking out!

Op shop finds

One thing I love about being somewhere different, is that there are always new op shops to explore!
I'm an op shop freak, and for people like me, there's no better place than Petone, near Wellington. Four op shop stores with lots of great goodies. Here are just a couple of my finds so far.
Ok, so we don't have a girl... maybe this coming baby will be a girl, maybe not. I just couldn't resist buying this beautiful dress. I thought if we don't use it, it will be great as a present!

And this is a Helen Cherry dress. I love the fabric. The length might need some reviewing, nothing too hard to do!

A drop of lemon in your earl grey?

Is what I'll feel like saying the day I use this tea set! It's got this typical english tea set look. The pretty pink flowers, the fine china, the scalloped edging. It's made in England by the Johnson Bros. The service is called Margaret Rose, from WindsorWare (as stamped on the bottom of the teapot). I did a little bit of online research and found an Etsy seller, VintageHand,  that had a bowl of the same style for sale. You can read a bit of the history behind this set.
It's in perfect condition, not one scratch or chip, doesn't even look like it's been used! I was so stoked when I saw this at one of our local op shops... I just had to buy it. I've stored it away for now, too scared that Tahi or Josh might break something (Tahi is notorious for breaking teapots in this house and Josh is not the gentlest person when it comes to washing dishes). I decided to wait until we do up the kitchen next year before taking it out... Oh I can't wait!
